Strengthening connection, collaboration and culture in the new era of flexible work
The new era of work has arrived, with 90% of executives surveyed by Economist Impact offering both flexible working hours and locations to some or all employees. Executives are also confident that work flexibility improves employee wellbeing and performance. But, organizational challenges persist.
These obstacles, coupled with increasing economic pressures, could threaten the recent progress made to push the flexible work revolution forward and keep employees at the center of work. To identify solutions, Economist Impact built a first-of-its-kind flexible work barometer which measures companies’ progress on the adoption, implementation and evaluation of flexible work models. It found that the key area to ensure success of flexible work should focus on strengthening workplace culture via four key areas: management, trust, connection and collaboration.
