AppFolio, a real estate management software provider, sought to enhance efficiency by building a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-powered application to improve resident communication. To achieve this, AppFolio collaborated with AWS Partner Datadog to leverage the partner’s LLM (large language model) Observability product along with foundation models from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Using Datadog’s capabilities, AppFolio was able to troubleshoot, monitor, and improve the performance and quality of its LLM application, Realm-X Messages. The implementation reduced application latency significantly, boosting service adoption by nearly 300 percent, and it improved user experience by helping customers more easily sort through, act on, and respond to messages.
